I took this photo a while back over on Jekyll Island, GA. It’s in an area known as driftwood beach. Along the beach are many trees that have huge roots above the sand because of the erosion. Some of the trees are fallen, the other are still standing as it the case with this giant. The area is beautiful in the day, but is amazing at sunrise. This was on an cold, cold day in December, and the colors in the sky happened to be perfect that day. I took some other photos that same day that were featured in Jekyll Island: The Nearest Faraway Place, a photo book with all entries being by amateur photographers.
