Straight Talk Falls Right into Place for Me #StraightTalkTesters

Although this post is sponsored my Straight Talk, the opinions are 100% my own and are completely honest.

Fall is here! Fall is here!

At least where we live, fall is in the air, and it is beginning to feel a little more tolerable outside. I am amused to see others (up north) talking about “winterizing” and “we will work on that yard project next spring”.

Heck, for the last 3-4 months all I could think about was cooler weather. I could barely walk to my car (in the driveway) without needing to wring my shirt out. It has BEEN HOT this summer. Much needed, cooler, weather is greatly appreciated.

Depending on where you live, like I said before, fall can mean a lot of different things. For us as a family it means opening doors to many more enjoyable activities that we wouldn’t otherwise brave the heat to do.  SO, I figured why not just checkout my Straight Talk phone and see what I had taken photos of lately.  Some are outside events and other are just random happenings around the house.

A couple months ago we were walking through Walmart looking for a few items.  As luck would have it, I had just introduced “the boy” to Star Wars.  Next thing I know him and “sister” are going at it, light sabers and all !

Other than cool weather, probably the next best thing is football season.  Since the kids were small (less that one in my son’s case), we have been going to football games at our alma mater.  Just this past year “sister” has gotten old enough to go to games and now we can enjoy them as a family.  It’s a great time together, and a great way to spend a Saturday.  Above is a panoramic photo I snapped with my Straight Talk phone.  No editing other than cropping.

Also, my son at the statue in front of the stadium.

On a cold (or even cool day) great camping food includes a steaming hot bowl of chili.  I recently tried out my chili recipe in my lodge dutch oven.  I will have to say it was almost easier to cook it on the open fire than to do it in the kitchen at home.  There was much less mess, and the only thing that I had to clean up when we were done was the one pot.

Above is a photo that although I didn’t take it with my Straight Talk phone,  I did wirelessly transfer it from my camera, and upload it to Facebook for the family to see via my phone.  Being in the south, the leaves are just starting to change colors here.  A few more weeks before they hit their peak.

I’m a sucker for a good panoramic shot.  I think they are (other than a video) the best was to capture the enormity of a scene.  This was also on a recent camping trip to Cloudland Canyon State park, here in the northern part of the state.

Both of our kids like to bowl.  Even though we might think they could possibly kill each other at some points in the day, they do seem to get along from time-to-time and help each other out.

Last but not least, are actually a couple of firsts.  My son lost his first tooth recently.  He was proud of it after he got over the initial fear of a part of his body being ripped out of his head!  No really, it wasn’t that bad as he was quick to pose for just about anyone “hey look, I lost a tooth”!

The other first we had recently, was my daughter’s first day of pre-pre K.  She is a little young, but we decided to try her out in the 1/2 day class for 2 days a week..  Well, you noticed I say TRIED.  Needless to say she didn’t take it too well and we are STILL trying, but that’s a different post for a different  day.

So, what does this really have to do with anything, really??  Well it doesn’t, but actually it does!

Up until I got married, actually a few years after I got married, a camera was something that was kept in a case.  It was taken out to take a picture, and then turned off and put back in the case.  You then took it (I’m getting a little farther back in time here) and had the film developed !

Yes, kids, I had film developed!  It seems ancient, but it really was only a few years ago.

And let’s hope the heck that you knew what you were doing because the photo you took a few days ago might actually look like crap, and then what.

Good news, it’s 2015!

My Straight Talk phone, yes phone…..has a camera on it!  I can snap photos just about anywhere, then I can upload, share, tweet, post, edit, compose into a collage… it really blows my mind when I think about it that way.. to my heart’s content!  I will admit that I am far from a pro, and heck maybe not even a good hobbyist, but I can say that there is one TIP that I have about taking photos (even with a smartphone).

Take lots, more and more and more..

Then take more, and when you think you have the shot, take a few more.  Don’t be surprised if you take dozens or maybe even hundreds and only get a few keepers.  That is OK, you got a few keepers, and better yet, YOU LEARNED from it.  You figure out light, composition and you will do it better next time.

So enough of my side track on photos, but just know this.

Take photos of your family and be sure to share them with your friends and family when you are apart, just like I do. You will have memories that will last forever!
